Jonathan Lane has been named Managing Director UK for ADM Agriculture Ltd.
Jonathan joined ADM in 2006 as an Export Grain Trader. Prior to and after this date, he held various positions in the trading and commercial arena, including working at ADM Erith as a Merchandiser.
Jonathan’s current role is Head of Grain Trading, a position he has held since ADM acquired Gleadell and formed ADM Agriculture in April 2019.
Jonathan is a graduate of Harper Adams with a BSc (Hons) in Agri-Food Marketing and Business and is now studying for a Masters in Strategic Management and Leadership.
Jonathan commented: “I am very excited by the new challenge, and I feel privileged to work alongside such a fantastic team as we drive ADM’s UK origination and direct marketing business forward.”
Gary McGuigan, President ADM Global Trade, said: “Jonathan has a wealth of experience and has been a key figure in the development of ADM Agriculture’s grain trading business. I am delighted that he now has the opportunity to lead ADM Agriculture in its entirety and I am confident he will build on the company’s very successful first few years.”
Jonathan will succeed Graham Atkinson, who will enjoy a well-deserved retirement. Graham worked as UK Managing Director for Arkady Feeds and led the transition when ADM merged Arkady, Gleadell and ADM Direct.
Gary said: “I have not come across a better ‘people’ person in our industry, whether leading teams or engaging with customers. Graham was instrumental in the success of ADM’s destination marketing business globally and I thank him for his exceptional contribution.”
