James Barlow, aged 27, has been appointed as ADM Agriculture’s Head of Seed, and will take up the position in May 2020, in succession to Chris Guest who is leaving ADM Agriculture to head up LS Plant Breeding’s UK business. James grew up on a family farm in Nottinghamshire and has always had a passion for arable farming. He studied Agriculture and Environment at Lincoln University, alongside working as a sales representative for a farm machinery dealership covering the East Midlands, and continuing to work on the family farm. In 2015, James started his career at Gleadell Agriculture as a farm trader and after 18 months he moved to the company’s seed department as Retail Seed Manager, responsible for leading the retail team on seed on a daily basis and from a technical and commercial perspective. During this time he has gained full BASIS and FACTS qualifications as well as becoming a licenced crop inspector.
