Oilseed Rape

Oilseed Rape - Hybrid

PT279CL

Clearfield - Breeder: DuPoint Pioneer

PT279 CL is one of few Clearfield varieties to go through the AHDB trial system and sits on the Candidate list this year. A good performer across both disease and gross output, PT279 CL gives growers a direct comparison to how Clearfield varieties fair against standard hybrid and conventional varieties they are already growing.

Conrad CL

Hybrid - Breeder: Limagrain

Building on its success from the continent, Conrad CL has entered the UK market and expresses very high gross output potential. Conrad CL encompasses pod shatter resistance, early maturity, good light leaf spot and phoma resistance and will be available with Turbo – our micronutrient dressing of choice.

Plurax CL

Hybrid - Breeder: DSV

Plurax CL offers growers a variety that has it all. High yield potential, high oil content, great disease scores and early maturity. Through independent trials Plurax CL has shown a high tolerance to Verticilium Wilt, a disease attributed to significant yield loss in certain circumstances. Plurax CL is the shortest, stiffest variety in our Clearfield offering.

George

Hybrid - Breeder: Syngenta

A candidate variety from breeder Syngenta, George looks a very robust addition to many growers’ portfolio of varieties. Gross output is on a par with the on-farm favourite Campus. George features an outstanding combination of yield and disease resistance, with multi-gene phoma resistance scoring an 8, and light leaf spot at 7. The variety is medium height, stiff strawed and has excellent oil content.

InV1155

Hybrid - Breeder: Bayer

InV1155 is the latest line from Bayer’s very successful InVigor OSR breeding programme. The InVigor portfolio has breeding targeted towards rapid autumn establishment. Gross output potential is high and disease scores are excellent, with 7 for light leaf spot and 8 for stem canker. A very good overall balance of features, along with pod shatter tolerance makes InV1155 a solid choice, especially to combat flea beetle through rapid development.

Aquila

Hybrid - Breeder: Limagrain

Aquila from Limagrain is now into its second year of recommendation on the East/West RL. It features excellent disease resistance along with high gross output potential, thanks to both strong seed yield and high oil content. Aquila’s real strengths are very strong stem canker resistance, solid light leaf spot scores and pod shatter resistance.

RGT Windozz

Hybrid - Breeder: RAGT

RGT Windozz is the highest yielding variety recommended for the East/West on the new RL and the highest yielding in UK trials. It has stiff straw and early maturity along with a solid disease portfolio. RGT Windozz has been very popular on farm over the past two years, helped by its strong autumn vigour. It looks set to be popular again for autumn 18 plantings.

DK Exalte

Hybrid - Breeder: Dekalb

DK Exalte has been a main stay of the Dekalb portfolio, featuring excellent gross output potential backed up with the many traits we have come to expect from a DK variety including superb disease resistance, double-phoma resistance, pod shatter resistance and rapid autumn and spring development.

DK Imperial CL

Hybrid - Breeder: Dekalb

DK Imperial CL is market leader in the Clearfield category and has proved very popular on farm. Unlike most other Clearfield varieties which have a very prostrate growth habit to cope with harsh continental winters, DK Imperial CL is a more typical leafy, erect plant in the autumn. RLM7 genetics bring in pod shatter and the double-phoma resistance seen widely across the DK portfolio.

Oilseed Rape - Conventional

Django

Conventional - Breeder: KWS

Django was the highest yielding variety in two years of National List trials and shows very good disease resistance (6 for light leaf spot and 6 for stem canker) along with excellent standing ability. Data from National List trials show Django having a 2% gross output advantage over market leader Campus, both varieties from the very successful KWS Momont breeding programme.

Campus

Conventional - Breeder: KWS

Campus has been in our OSR portfolio for a number of years since its launch and it keeps getting better and better. Nicknamed the ‘seed with speed’ Campus has shown a new level of autumn vigour for conventional varieties. Campus had a very good year in trial last year and as such will see its market share hold very strong for the coming season. Campus is still an exceptional performer in the north at 106% of control.
